Gnocchi

My wife's father made these gnocchi, a job he is somewhat expert at. As a boy, the youngest of his family, he was tasked with using a fork to give the gnocchi a final roll, giving grooves to the pasta, and then he would put them to the side ready for cooking. Lining the gnocchi up like soldiers was at the same time fun and efficient, and the habit has stayed with him.
